Rose Schisandra Glow Iced Tea Mocktail

We love a classic iced tea on a hot summer’s day, there’s no debate there.

It’s also nice to change things up a little, perhaps get a little fruity.

We’re big fans of Lake & Oak’s juicy & fruity Rose Schisandra Glow tea hot, it also makes for an amazing summer time iced tea, mocktail!

Before we get to the mocktail recipe, we figured we would fill you in on why this is not only a delicious tea, but also one that is good for you and promotes hydration and healthy, glowing skin.

This cheerful hot pink tea is a blend of Organic Hibiscus, Organic Schisandra Berry, Organic Rosehips, Organic Orange Peel.

Have you ever heard of an Adaptogen?

An Adaptogen is a plant that can help the body adapt to stressors - whether they are physical, psychological or environmental.

Adaptogens can be great to help your body and mind find calm.

As daily Adaptogen users ourselves, they’ve played a big part in helping us work through daily chronic anxiety and hormonal challenges.

There are many kinds of adaptogens such as medicinal mushrooms, Tulsi (Holy Basil), Ashwagandha and the one you’ll find in the tea is Schisandra Berry.

We love our Adaptogens and hope you will too, anything that brings more calm right now seems like a good thing!

The other superfoods found in this tea blend are all anti-inflammatories and filled with antioxidants - they can help to ease inflammation in the body and because of this, promote beautiful, healthy skin.

Glowing skin starts from the inside.

Now are you ready for your juicy, fruity & good for you tea mocktail?

I thought you’d never ask, here’s the easy peasy recipe!

What you’ll need

250 ml sweetened, steeped Rose Schisandra Glow Tea (grab a jar from our Marketplace or use from the ‘Get Glowing’ gift box) - add the honey or maple syrup when the tea is still hot so it dissolves. Then refrigerate or let cool.
1 tsp+ local honey or maple syrup (grab some here)
Juice of 1 lime
Lime slices
Sliced strawberries
Lots of ice
Your fave glass
Cute, reusable straw
Optional - top with some bubbly water (lime, hibiscus or unflavoured)

How to shake things up

Add a few pieces of the sliced fruit to a glass, give them a bit of a mull to release some of the flavours
Add ice to the glass
Give the steeped tea + sweetener a good shake, shake, shake
Pour over ice
Pour in fresh lime juice
Give it a stir
Drop in the rest of the sliced fruit
Top with optional bubbly water (or perhaps the REAL kind of bubbly)

We recommend enjoying on a hot summer’s day with tasty snacks and great tunes.

Reminder, you can shop our Marketplace to find a few of these great, local, small-batch items - tea, honey, maple syrup. Support local, support small.
